PHOENIX – One person was killed and another injured early Tuesday when a car smashed into a power pole in Glendale.
Power lines came down across 75th Avenue between Glendale and Northern avenues from the impact of the 5 a.m. crash, knocking out electricity to the area.
The driver, an unidentified man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman passenger’s injuries weren’t life-threatening.
The section of the street was closed for hours for the investigation and repairs.
Northbound traffic was allowed through again after noon.
No other details of the single-car accident were immediately available.
Northbound 75th Ave is now open between Glendale Ave and Northern Av. Traffic restrictions for southbound 75th Av remain throughout day as power lines are repaired. #phxtraffic
