PHOENIX — The Mesa and Chandler police departments joined the Neighbors app by Ring this week.

Neighbors is a neighborhood watch app that provides local crime and safety information, according to a press release.

The free app allows users to view neighborhood activity and alert neighbors of any activity through videos or pictures.

The app also allows users to customize their geographic area to receive real-time alerts from law enforcement, neighbors or the Ring team.

“Ring and the Neighbors app are innovative and exciting tools that our department will be able to use to stay connected and grow our relationships with the community as well as help keep Mesa a great place to live,” Mesa Police Chief, Ramon Batista said in the release.

“When officers and the community work together, we can achieve greatness.”

Ring is a home security manufacturing company best known for its video doorbells and outdoor motion based cameras.

Residents can text “MESAPD” or “CHANDLERAZ” to 555888 from a smartphone to download the app.

We want to hear from you.
