PHOENIX — Looking to work on your aim in a cooler climate?
Look no further than the Northern Arizona Shooting Range in Flagstaff.
The Northern Arizona Shooting Range, located south of the Winona Exit on Interstate 40, will be open in its entirety beginning Saturday.
While the range is set to open, weather can still be a factor.
According to the range’s website, whenever there’s a 75 percent chance of more than an inch of snow, more than 0.5 inches of rain or sustained gusts of more than 30 mph winds for the area of Winona, the range will be shut down.
The 160-acre range is located about 20 miles east of Flagstaff and is owned by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The Northern Arizona Shooting Foundation maintains and operates the range.
Rifle, pistol, shotgun and archery ranges will be available for gun and bow enthusiasts. The clay target and archery venues were previously closed in November.
The rifle and pistol ranges will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trap and skeet and sporting clays will also run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Shooters must arrive by 2 p.m to use the areas.
The prices per person to use the range vary from $3 to $7, with daily venue rental pricing also available.
From October through September of 2018, the range saw an increase of more than 10 percent of shooters.
