PHOENIX – The B-52s are bringing the ’80s back to Phoenix this summer as part of their 40th anniversary world tour.

The quirky new wave party band will “Dance This Mess Around” at Comerica Theatre on Aug. 14.

Tickets were scheduled to go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday.

OMD (aka Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark) and Berlin will open the show.

The B-52s’ self-titled debut album was released in 1979 and featured the classic danceable hit “Rock Lobster.”

The band from Athens, Georgia, had a string of hits through the ‘80s, including “Whammy Kiss,” “Summer of Love,” “Roam” and, of course, the ubiquitous 1989 smash “Love Shack.”

We want to hear from you.
