PHOENIX – The Arizona Board of Regents approved tuition rate increases for the 2019-20 school year at the state’s three public universities during a meeting Thursday in Tucson.
Tuition for in-state undergraduate students at Arizona State University will go up an average of 2.8%, according to an ABOR press release.
Rates will go up 2.9% for new in-state undergrads at the University of Arizona and 1.8% for incoming undergrads at Northern Arizona University.
NAU and UA have guarantee programs that prevent tuition from rising for most continuing undergrads.
The Arizona Board of Regents approved 2019-20 tuition and fees for Arizona’s public universities today, reflecting a multi-year commitment to enhance tuition predictability and keep tuition increases low. More information is available here: https://t.co/8sQQtYed3d @ASU @NAU @UofA

Other tuition rates will go up at varying percentages depending on which campuses are attended and what program is being studied. Details about all the new rates can be found here.
“Our board is pleased that our universities continue to maintain cost predictability for students through tuition guarantees and promises,” Chair Ron Shoopman said in the release.
The board’s vote came after the schools’ presidents submitted fee proposals last month, followed by public hearings and a workshop where the presidents made presentations.
