Drivers can expect 2 Valley freeway closures this weekend

PHOENIX — Parts of two Valley freeways will be closed this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed between 67th and 51st avenues in west Phoenix from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 91st, 83rd, 79th, and 75th avenues will also be closed.
Crews will be working on construction for the future South Mountain Freeway, a 22-mile link between the East Valley and West Valley.
ADOT said drivers can take alternate routes including northbound and eastbound Loop 101, McDowell Road or Van Buren Street.
Northbound I-17 will be closed between the I-10 split interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and 19th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements.

Drivers can detour to westbound I-10 and reconnect with I-17 at the stack interchange west of 19th Avenue, or they can exit southbound at 32nd or 24th streets and travel west on Broadway Road, north on 19th Avenue and west on Grant Street to access I-17.
