Silver Alert canceled after 84-year-old Phoenix-area man found

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled early Wednesday after an 84-year-old man who went missing from a Phoenix-area care facility was found.

Robert Bons was reported located around 8:30 a.m., about 12 hours after he was believed to have driven away from Fountain View Village in Fountain Hills.

Authorities said he drove away in his 2017 Toyota Rav 4 vehicle with an Arizona license plate, CAX4318, around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bons has Dementia, chronic kidney problems, chronic AFib issues and takes medication.

His cell phone was pinged around McDowell Mountain Road and Fountain Hills Boulevard but had a radius of 1,400 meters.

Bons was described as a 6-foot-2 man with gray hair and blue eyes. It was not immediately known what he was last seen wearing.
