PHOENIX – U.S. Sen. Martha McSally of Arizona said Monday she “absolutely” thinks the Mueller report on Russian election meddling should be made public.
“We’ve got to move on and move forward in a way that kind of heals and puts it behind us, and I think transparency will really help with that,” the Republican told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mac & Gaydos on Monday.
Special counsel Robert Mueller submitted his final report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday.
On Sunday, Barr released a four-page summary that said Mueller didn’t find evidence that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election.
Now that we close this chapter, I hope that as a nation we can focus on issues that move us forward like: affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, and quality education.

According to Barr’s summary, Mueller also investigated whether Trump obstructed justice but didn’t come to any conclusion. However, Barr said he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined that the evidence was insufficient to prosecute an obstruction offense.
“It has been a long two years; this has divided our country,” McSally said. “I think to the maximum possible it needs to be fully transparent so that American people can move on.”
McSally said she hopes the Democrats in Congress can turn their attention elsewhere now that Mueller’s investigation has been completed.
“It’s time for us to really focus on the things that matter to the people I represent,” McSally said, citing border issues, military, health care and education.
