PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Tuesday night for an 83-year-old Apache Junction man with dementia.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said someone brought Floyd Jenkins Jr. in to the Apache Junction police station, and he was unharmed.

Jenkins was last seen near Ironwood Drive and Broadway Avenue on Thursday, according to DPS.

Authorities said Jenkins’ condition has worsened in the past weeks due the death of his wife, and he reportedly made suicidal comments to neighbors before leaving the area.

He was driving a gray 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck with an extended cab, gray truck cap and Michigan license plate CLG158.

Jenkins is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has gray hair and gray eyes.

DPS said Jenkins crossed the U.S.-Mexico border at the San Ysidro port of entry in San Diego at 2 a.m. Sunday, coming back into the U.S. with two people.

Jenkins’ family confirmed that there is no known relation between Jenkins and the subjects, identified by Apache Junction police as Cassandra Ersery, 21, and Henry Portillo, 40.

Police said Ersery has a protective order against Portillo.

No information about the two subjects was immediately available after the alert was canceled.

Anyone with information was asked to contact DPS at 480-982-8260.
