Scottsdale named among top 10 happiest cities in the nation

PHOENIX — They say money can’t buy happiness, but where you live might be a factor.
Scottsdale was rated the happiest city in Arizona, and it was in the top ten happiest cities nationally, according to WalletHub.
The personal finance website compared 182 cities on 31 key indicators of happiness across three categories: emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment.
Scottsdale ranked highest out of the Arizona cities at No. 9 on the list, and it ranked second overall for community and environment.
The other Arizona cities rated were No. 21 Gilbert, No. 33 Chandler, No. 39 Tempe, No. 44 Peoria, No. 75 Mesa, No. 104 Glendale, No. 118 Tucson and No. 127 Phoenix.
Gilbert ranked third nationally for lowest separation and divorce rate while Glendale ranked second for lowest income growth.
According to the list, the happiest cities are No. 1 Plano, Texas, No. 2 Irvine, California and No. 3 Madison, Wisconsin.
The unhappiest cities are No. 180 Charleston, West Virginia, No. 181 Toledo, Ohio and No. 182 Detroit, Michigan.
