PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office wants “porch pirates” to know they are being pursued.
On Tuesday, the agency announced the arrest of a woman who allegedly stole a package delivered to a West Valley residence last year.
Ericka Cindy Arvizo, 33, was jailed on theft charges last week, according to an MCSO press release.
Investigators had connected the suspect to a Sept. 6 call about an Amazon delivery that went missing from the front porch of a Litchfield Park home.

MCSO detectives set up surveillance Feb. 27 at an address where Arvizo was known to live.
They attempted to contact her after she arrived at the residence, but she fled, the release said.
Arvizo was located and taken into custody about a mile away, near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix.
No information was provided about the contents of the delivery.
Investigators are continuing to pursue the case and attempting to recover stolen property.
With delivery thefts on the rise, the MCSO recommends that recipients try to be home when packages are scheduled to arrive or have packages delivered to a secure area if possible.
