PHOENIX – History-making rapper Cardi B won’t be appearing at the Pot of Gold Music Festival in Phoenix next month after all.
But Ozuna, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Kodak Black and Gunna will.
Organizers announced Tuesday that Cardi pulled out of the March 15-17 event at Steele Indian School Park.
“All we know is that due to personal issues Cardi B is unable to perform,” the festival told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email Friday.
The cancellation came two days after she won the Grammy Award for best rap album for her debut release, “Invasion of Privacy.” It was the first time a solo female performer won in that category.
The festival is offering refunds, but requests must be made online by 11:59 p.m. Monday.
Additionally, anybody with a Saturday ticket who wants to switch days can show up Friday or Sunday instead.
When the Pot of Gold lineup was revealed in November, Cardi B was listed as a Saturday co-headliner, along with Lil Wayne.
Kodak Black and Gunna were added to the that day’s lineup in the wake of Cardi’s departure.
On Monday, the festival finally revealed part of the Friday card, which wasn’t announced in November. Puerto Rican star Ozuna will headline, and old-school rappers Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg also were confirmed.
Snoop Dogg recently performed in town at the Phoenix Open Birds Nest on Feb. 1.
Post Malone is the Sunday headliner.
The annual St. Patricks’ weekend event is heading into its fifth year and will be held at the central Phoenix park for the first time.
