PHOENIX — The Milwaukee Brewers spring training facility in Phoenix was unveiled Tuesday after undergoing a $60 million renovation.
The American Family Fields of Phoenix, formerly known as the Maryvale Baseball Park, became the spring training home of the Brewers upon opening in 1998.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the renovations doubled the complex’s size, now spanning 82,000 square feet.
New features include an improved sports science center, an eight-lane batting tunnel, new concessions and retail stores and new pitching mounds.

There also is a new high-performance training field that matches the dimensions of Miller Park, the Brewers’ regular-season home stadium.
The team made a deal with the city of Phoenix in 2017 to stay at the stadium, located on the corner of Indian School Road and 51st Avenue, until 2042.
Texas-based HKS was the architect of the renovation while Mortenson Construction, based in Chandler, was the construction manager for the project.
The Brewers are one of 15 teams that compete in Cactus League baseball during spring training.
They will kick off the spring season against the Chicago Cubs on Feb. 23 at Sloan Park in Mesa.
On Feb. 26, they will face the San Diego Padres for their first game at the renovated park.
