Body cam video shows Glendale officers tase man 11 times
A routine traffic stop escalated into Glendale Police Department officers tasing a man 11 times in July 2017, according to body camera footage.
Marc Victor, the lawyer representing the man tased in the ABC15 Arizona video, told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday that they are pursuing legal action against Glendale and three of its officers for the use of excessive force.
“The video speaks for itself,” Victor said. “I think anyone who sees that video probably doesn’t even need a commentary to understand what happened there.”
According to Glendale PD, a review of the officers’ actions has been performed and “discipline implemented regarding certain tactics used by one officer.”
Schneider was suspended for 30 hours and remains an active duty member of the police force, according to ABC15 Arizona.
Crowd Sunday at State Farm Stadium could rival Super Bowl
Last Sunday, 70,081 fans filled Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, for Super Bowl LIII.
This Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, a capacity crowd that could rival Atlanta is expected to watch a spry and energetic 94-year-old Russell M. Nelson, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, take the field.
Church and community members will listen to Nelson speak at a devotional that will also be broadcast to church buildings throughout Arizona.
Nelson has traveled the globe during his first year since being introduced as the faith’s 17th president in January of 2018.
He logged 55,000 flight miles, including stops to five continents, 16 nations and territories and 24 cities.

Massive interactive art installation coming to Mesa
Architects of Air: Albesila, a large-scale immersive art installation, will be on display in Mesa from Saturday until Feb. 17.
Visitors will be able to walk through and explore the inflatable structure’s connected oval domes at Pioneer Park, located on Main Street east of Mesa Drive.
Designed by British artist Alan Parkinson, Albesila is billed as an experience of color, music and wonder.
The installation is about half the size of a football field and can hold up to 80 people at a time.
Mormon church’s ‘giving machines’ in Gilbert raise over $800K
Charity vending machines placed in Gilbert by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints over the holiday season raised more than $800,000.
The #LightTheWorld Giving Machines in the Water Tower Plaza near Page Avenue and Gilbert Road allowed anyone to make charitable donations for items such as diapers, turkeys or toys.
Users could walk up to the machines, pick an item they would like to donate and “purchase” the item.
Over the course of 33 days, $862,120 was raised from 34,843 transactions at the Gilbert machines.
The donations will benefit global and local nonprofit organizations, including four in Arizona: A New Leaf, Helen’s Hope Chest, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and United Food Bank.
