Phoenix Police: Gunman shoots man threatening women with a knife

PHOENIX — A man was shot and killed Saturday night near 24th Avenue and Thomas Road, according to Phoenix Police.
Two women were threatened with a knife by an estranged boyfriend of one of the women, police said.
The male suspect of the shooting asked the women if they needed help, which resulted in an altercation between the two men.
The altercation resulted in the gunman shooting the estranged boyfriend that was threatening the two women with a knife.
The 38-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His identification has not been disclosed.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been identified, but investigators are trying to locate the suspect to speak with him about the incident.
