PHOENIX — A roadway in north Phoenix is expected to be restricted for more than a week after a water main break flooded the street.
City spokeswoman Stephanie Bracken told KTAR News 92.3 FM that two lanes of the three-lane Seventh Avenue remain closed in both directions between Deer Valley Road and Melinda Lane.
The roadway is expected to be partially restricted until Saturday, depending on weather and rain, as crews work to repair the damage, Bracken said.
The city opened one lane in each direction over the weekend to help with traffic jams.
The water main break occurred near Seventh Avenue and Deer Valley Road on Jan. 11, covering a large portion of the roadway during the early morning hours and completely blocking traffic.
Bracken said the cause of the break was due to a combination of old pipes and weather conditions.
