PHOENIX — A new restaurant concept that will feature an oyster bar will open its doors in Scottsdale later this month.
Modern Oysterbar Chophouse plans to open by the end of the month on the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Gold Dust Avenue.
The 6,000-square-foot space will include a full service bar, plush seating to accommodate 299 guests and the oyster bar, which will seat 12.
“There is a high demand in the Valley for fresh and innovative seafood and shellfish,” co-founder Frank Schneider said in a press release. “We found the perfect location for this concept and we are excited to see it unfold into a reality.”
The restaurant is located at the former home of Sonata’s restaurant and will also feature a private dining room with space for up to 30 people.
Schneider, along with fellow co-founders Cat and Randy Frankel, have restaurant experience with local eateries such as Steak 44, Zinc Bistro and Mastro’s Ocean Club.
