PHOENIX – Rain might make an appearance in the Valley this weekend, but not enough to disrupt your plans.

“We have a disturbance coming in [Saturday] that’s going to bring rain chances back to the Valley, and we’re going to see a chance for snow in the high country,” ABC15 meteorologist Iris Hermosillo told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday morning.

Hermosillo said any storm activity shouldn’t have much impact on the thermometer in the Phoenix area, and it isn’t expected to rain more than a tenth of an inch.

“Our temperatures are still going to reach the upper 60s the weekend, so that actually keeps us close to normal for this time of year,” she said.

Rain is most likely after 5 p.m. Saturday, with a 30 percent chance, but Sunday looks dry.

“You may get a few light passing showers as you’re out and about Saturday evening, but don’t cancel those plans,” Hermosillo said.

Up north, places like Flagstaff and Show Low could see 1-3 inches of snow, which could make for hazardous travel conditions Saturday night.

“For the high country we’ll see snow levels dropping to around 6,000 feet,” Hermosillo said. “Spots like Flagstaff could pick a few inches of snow, but it’s also not looking to be a major snowstorm.”

After Saturday, a chance for rain doesn’t appear again in the forecast until Wednesday.
