3D light show to come alive this week on red rocks of Sedona

PHOENIX – Plan on heading to Sedona this week if you want to enjoy the largest 3D holiday light show ever presented on a natural canvas in the United States.
The northern Arizona city that calls itself “The Most Beautiful Place on Earth” will host the Sedona Northern Lights nightly from Thursday through Sunday, when the area’s famous red rocks will come alive with glowing artwork.
The free shows run about six minutes and will start at the top of the hour from 6-9 p.m. each night.
Holiday imagery created through 3D mapping will be projected onto Camelhead Rock, next to Snoopy Rock, and be visible from multiple viewing areas throughout Uptown and Gallery Row.

Some area hotels, bars and restaurants will have special packages and viewing areas, too.
Music to accompany the shows will be broadcast on 780 AM and be played at designated viewing areas.
Los Angeles-based PaintScaping is producing the show again after debuting it in 2017.
“When I did the show last year I had never mapped a mountain before,” PaintScaping CEO Philippe Bergeron told Lighting & Sound America. “This is the biggest holiday mapping show in the U.S., and I can’t wait to return for year two.”
PaintScaping also does the annual 3D show projected onto the side of the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale.
