PHOENIX — Chandler Police said Tuesday that they have arrested the two suspects who allegedly drove into a store, stole 21 handguns and fled from police.
Miguel Gomez, 32, and Alicia Gonzalez, 26, crashed through the entrance of a Shoppers Supply store in a stolen pick-up truck around 11 p.m. Monday, police said.
After smashing display cases and taking the guns, they fled on foot to a farm, where they were picked up by a woman in a different pick-up truck, police said.
Police said they tried to stop the truck, but it refused to pull over.
After a pursuit ending on the Gila River reservation, police said they took Gomez, Gonzalez and the woman into custody.
According to police, investigators believe the three were under the influence of methamphetamine during the burglary and pursuit, and Gomez and Gonzalez had multiple warrants.
The unnamed woman said Gomez took control of the truck during the pursuit and she was not involved in the burglary, according to court documents. She was released without charges.
Police said all of the missing guns had been recovered by Wednesday.
