PHOENIX — Planning to be out and about this weekend?
Luckily, there are no construction closures planned for Phoenix-area freeways Friday through Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a news release.
The agency reminded drivers to wear seat belts, stick to speed limits and avoid driving while impaired.
ADOT said last week that highway closures for construction and maintenance will be limited throughout the end of the year to accommodate holiday travel.
For a special event, the Loop 101 northbound and southbound ramps at Via de Ventura will be closed from 5 a.m. until noon Sunday.
For those heading north to see the snow expected this weekend, ADOT tweeted that there is a winter weather advisory until noon on Friday.
The agency recommended travelers plan routes in advance, notify someone of destinations and planned arrival times, keep gas tanks at three-quarters full and dial 511 for updated weather conditions.
A winter storm is headed our way, according to the experts at @NWSFlagstaff. Make sure you plan for winter travel: https://t.co/yVEp6o0XID #KnowSnow pic.twitter.com/F4ClvZPDIw
