New development bringing ‘live, work and play environment’ to Mesa

Nov 21, 2018, 4:39 AM | Updated: 8:40 am

PHOENIX – A new mixed-use development — with office space, two hotels, luxury apartments, condos, restaurants and retail — is coming to Mesa.

Gallery Park is being billed as an urban living experience that covers around 1 million square feet off Power Road south of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

The community will also include outdoor amenities such as stages, splash pads and seating.

Jose Pombo of Vivo Partners, developer of the site, described it as a “live, work and play environment.”

“We really felt like there was a real opportunity to create an elevated lifestyle destination in this part of town,” Pombo told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Tuesday.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019, with the first phase of retail and restaurants opening in 2020.

“We’re obviously very excited about the fact that Maricopa County is fastest-growing county in the country,” Pombo said.

“We know that a lot of that growth is centered around the Southeast Valley.”

An estimated 2,000 jobs will be created at the property’s shops and restaurants.
