This week on Silent Witness, we have two cases with two things in common: They are both men who have gone missing and investigators have run out of leads.
“Missing persons cases are extremely hard to investigate and solve,” said Phoenix Sgt. Jamie Rothschild.
Our first case involves the mysterious disappearance of a 23-year-old west Phoenix man.
“Terasi Niholimbele is married and has a daughter,” Sgt. Rothschild says, “but nobody has heard from him in quite some time.”
He worked at as an awning manufacturer. Some friends dropped him off near 55th Avenue and Thomas the afternoon of Aug. 30, 2017. He was reported missing on Sept. 1.

Next, police are trying to find Mark Shearer who lived near 23rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
“Friends and family can be our best source of information when it comes to recognizing patterns and what may be out of the norm,” Rothschild said.
“And in this case, it was his sister that contacted police saying that although she had spoken to him a month ago, this was the longest stretch of time since she has heard from him or seen him since then.”
Shearer, who worked in real estate and home renovation, was reported missing on Oct. 1, 2016.
