PHOENIX — Construction for the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway project may cause delays on the road this weekend.
Eastbound I-10 will close between 67th and 51st avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Sunday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
“Crews are shifting the traffic lanes in order to get ready for the next phase of construction out at the South Mountain Freeway interchange,” ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
The agency said in a news release that the closure will be lifted before the Arizona Cardinals’ game is over on Sunday.
The eastbound I-10 ramps at 91st, 83rd, 79th and 75th avenues will also be closed.
