PHOENIX — A fire gutted several townhomes under construction in Phoenix early Thursday, engaging first responders for nearly an hour.
The blaze at Central Avenue and Dobbins Road was reported around 2:30 a.m, Phoenix Fire said in an email to KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Six or seven units went up in smoke and flames.
Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other unfinished homes on the site.
After about 45 minutes, the fire, which had been visible for miles, was out.
Investigators were still working a few hours later to determine what caused the fire.
