PHOENIX – Arizona State Land officials will auction off 81 acres broken into six parcels that was valued at more than $14 million.

The Arizona State Land Department announced Tuesday that a parcel in Phoenix and five parcels near Tucson will be up for bid to the public next week.

About 51 acres in Phoenix near 40th Street and Loop 202 will be up for sale Nov. 7 starting at 11 a.m. at the land department office at 16th Avenue and Adams Street. It has been valued at $14 million.

The 30 acres for sale near Tucson Mountain Park was valued at $259,000. The auction was scheduled Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Herbert K. Abrams Public Health Center, near Country Club Road and Ajo Way.

State Land Commissioner Lisa Atkins said the proceeds will be invested in a fund benefiting K-12 public education.

In September, a national insurance company bought 100 acres of state land in Scottsdale for $83 million, and a local developer paid $7.2 million for 23 acres in northwest Phoenix.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
