PHOENIX — Phoenix-based Honeywell Aerospace has been awarded a $1 billion-plus contract from the U.S. Air Force to work on support for several power systems.
The military’s Defense Logistics Agency announced recently that Honeywell would be responsible for auxiliary power systems on the C-130, B-2 APUs, F-15, F-16, A-10, E-3 and B-1.
The $1,036,726,575 contract with the Department of Defense could last for as long as 10 years.
The Phoenix office will manage the contract and while most of the work on the turbine engines was to be done in Utah, the Valley’s engine manufacturing site will also be involved, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.
“This is a major win for us, and we’re proud to continue our work with the U.S. Air Force,” company spokesman Adam Kress said to the Journal.
Work was expected to be finished before August 2028.
The Department of Defense has been one of Honeywell’s biggest customers over the years.
