PHOENIX — ‘Tis the season to prepare for holiday festivities, including outdoor ice skating in the Valley of the Sun.
A 3,500-square-foot skating rink will be part of the seasonal activities at Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale as part of the annual Skate Westgate event.
There also will be nightly snowfalls, visits with Santa and free horse-drawn carriage rides.
The skating rink will be open daily, excluding Thanksgiving Day, from Nov. 3 until Jan. 13.
Snow will fall at Westgate twice a night from Nov. 20 to Dec. 24. On Christmas Eve, the flurries will come down every hour from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Kids can visit Santa on select dates between Nov. 20 and Christmas Eve. Dec. 10 and 17 will be pet days, when patrons can bring their fur babies to sit on Santa’s lap.
The carriage rides will be available Friday and Saturday nights from Nov. 23 to Dec. 22.
