PHOENIX — The tallest building in Arizona is once again under new ownership.
The Chase Tower in downtown Phoenix was recently sold to the owner of a Florida hockey team for $107.5 million, just six months after it was bought at a trustee sale for $78 million, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
Vincent Viola, owner of the Florida Panthers National Hockey League team, is the owner of Viola Lordsmeer LP, which bought the building from 201 North Central Avenue Property LLC.
Viola, who is worth $2.4 billion, owns the Florida Panthers and founded the electronic-trading firm Virtu Financial Inc.
Viola was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the Secretary of the Army, but he withdrew his name from consideration last year.
Wentworth Property Co. and Taconic Capital Advisors bought the 723,922-square-foot office building near Central Avenue and Van Buren Street in April.
