Multiple Trump rally attendees taken to hospital for heat-related illness

PHOENIX — Seven people who attended President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Mesa on Friday were transported to a local hospital due to heat-related illness, according to the Mesa Police Department.
A spokesperson said 35 attendees were treated at the rally. Another attendee was transported to a local hospital, but it was not immediately known what for.
The rally took place at International Air Response at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Thousands of supporters lined up around the venue ahead of the rally.
Authorities expected 40,000 people in attendance.
The conditions of the hospitalized attendees was not known as of Monday.
