PHOENIX — A well-known pizzeria in downtown Phoenix will soon reopen its doors to customers with a new look — and a new menu.
Pomo Pizzeria, located near Arizona State University’s downtown campus at First and McKinley streets, announced that it would reopen on Oct. 25 after undergoing a $250,000 remodel that kept it closed for several weeks.
“We really paid attention to every inch of this remodel and took great care to create a vibrant atmosphere,” Stefano Fabbri, founder and chairman of Pomo Restaurant Group, said in a statement.
The remodel included an upgraded bar that was extended by more than 20 feet, more TVs, rolling patio doors, taller awnings, additional windows, new walls, new flooring and additional lighting throughout.
But that’s not all that has been upgraded: The kitchen has also been extended for additional equipment, which means a bigger menu for guests.
Some of the new menu items will include antipasti, bruschetta, salads and soups. A second Luna Gelateria location was also added inside Pomo. There will also be a new wine, beer and cocktail list.
“We want to keep the food authentic and interesting for our guests,” Fabbri said.
“The lighter and crispier style of pizza not only brings fresh flavors and new textures, but it shows our commitment to responding to the growing tastes of our diners.”
The hours of the Phoenix location will also change: It will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday, with an extended closing time of midnight on the weekends. It will be closed on Mondays. There will also be a happy hour six days a week from 3 to 6 p.m. and reverse happy hour from 9 p.m. to close.
The restaurant will hold an event for the public from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 25. Samples of new menu items, punch and gelato will be offered. A formal ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m.
