Quake strikes off coast of eastern Russia

NEW YORK (AP) – The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-6.1 earthquake has struck off the coast of eastern Russia.
The strong temblor was centered 166 miles (268 km) south-southwest of Il’pyrskiy, just off Russia’s Far East Coast at 11:15 p.m. EDT on Saturday, according to the USGS website.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages and there was no immediate tsunami alert issued.
