PHOENIX — Arizona native Stevie Nicks has been nominated for a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist, it was announced Tuesday.

The Phoenix-born Nicks, 70, is already in the Hall of Fame as a member of legendary band Fleetwood Mac. The group was inducted in 1988, but the nomination marked her first time as a solo.

Nicks has maintained an active solo career, with her best-known songs coming in the 1980s, with “Edge of Seventeen,” ”Stand Back” and the Tom Petty duet, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”

She and Fleetwood Mac will kick off a North American tour Wednesday in Louisville, Kentucky. The reunited band will play Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix on Nov. 28.

Def Leppard, Todd Rundgren, Devo and Roxy Music joined her as first-time nominees.

Nine other artists made return appearances to the ballot, including Janet Jackson, Radiohead, LL Cool J, Rufus featuring Chaka Kahn and the Cure.

Fans can have their say at rockhall.org starting Tuesday through Dec. 9.

The top five vote-getters will be included as a fan’s ballot.

Winners will be announced later that month. The 34th annual ceremony has been scheduled for March 29 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

HBO planned to air the induction at a later date and SiriusXM radio will carry a live simulcast.
