PHOENIX — Arizonans wishing to vote in the November general election need to register on Tuesday or they will miss their chance to have a say in who represents them in the coming years.

People who aren’t already registered have until midnight to do so.

“We are getting crazy busy entering all these registrations,” Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“I really think we are going to be setting records,” he added.

“Right now, we have roughly 789,000 active Republican voters in Maricopa County, 657,596 active Democrats registered and in the non-party designation, 760,343 voters.”

The Maricopa County Recorder’s office is currently sending more than 1.5 million early voter ballots in the mail.

If voters are voting through the mail, they need to be sent back before October 31st.

On the ballot are a U.S. Senate and all nine U.S. House seats, the governor and other top state officials, several initiatives and all 90 state House and Senate seats.

Voters must be U.S. citizens, 18 years old by Election Day, a resident of the county where registering and have no felony convictions unless their civil rights have been restored.

To register online, go to ADOT’s website. In-person registration is available at county recorder’s offices during regular business hours.

Volunteers are standing by to help anyone through the process of getting registered to vote at 602-506-1511.

“We are hoping folks will get registered and get voting early so we can make sure to get this thing done well in partnership with our voters.” Fontes said.
