1 injured, Phoenix street closed in both directions after car crash

PHOENIX — Part of a Phoenix street was closed in both directions after one person was critically injured in a car accident.
Sgt. Armando Carbajal with the Phoenix Police Department said Baseline Road was closed from 24th Street to 32nd Street starting just before 10 a.m.

The eastbound portion of the roadway reopened around 12:30 p.m.
Carbajal said the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling eastbound on Baseline Road crossed the center line and crashed into another vehicle driving in the opposite direction.
It was not immediately known why the driver crossed the center line.
