Mexico’s president says he may be consultant

MEXICO CITY (AP) – President Felipe Calderon says he might work as a legal or political consultant after he leaves office on Dec. 1.

The 49-year-old, Harvard-educated Calderon says he has had some offers to teach at foreign universities, but will probably stay in Mexico.

Calderon said in an interview on the Televisa network Wednesday that either way, he will continue working for a living, and not retire after leaving office.

He said other work possibilities include environmental projects or a seat on the board of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Mexico will hold presidential elections on July 1. Calderon cannot seek re-election.
