Arizona Cardinals’ David Johnson donates electronics to kids’ hospital

PHOENIX — Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson is making big plays — both on and off the field.

Johnson and his wife Meghan donated a mobile cart with Playstations, iPads and video games to the Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa on Monday.

The cart, which was donated through their organization, Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation, was called “David’s Locker.”

The electronics, Johnson hopes, will help entertain and educate patients while they are in treatment and recovery.

“We are thankful to David and Meghan for this gift, which will provide our youngest patients with both educational and entertainment opportunities during their recovery,” Andy Kramer Petersen, president and CEO of the Banner Health Foundation, said in a statement.

“The Mission 31 Foundation understands the needs of children, and this gift will certainly put a lot of smiles on young faces.”

The organization was established last year to “provide opportunities, support and resources to seriously ill children and their families by offering daily support and life changing experiences,” according to its website.

Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon recently unveiled that two rooms at the children’s hospital were renovated thanks to a contribution from his Respect 90 charitable foundation.

We want to hear from you.
