BERLIN (AP) – Police say a truck carrying 113 puppies crashed on a highway in western Germany but all but one of the dogs survived.
Ludwigshafen police said the truck slid off a rainy exit ramp near the city of Schifferstadt before dawn Thursday, going through a guard rail and then tipping over.
Police say one puppy died and seven others were lightly injured. The 40-year-old driver and his passenger were not hurt.
The truck was bringing the puppies of various breeds from Slovakia to be sold in Germany and Belgium.
Police say no charges have been filed.
