PHOENIX – The Maggiore Group announced Thursday it was bringing a Sicilian Butcher craft meatball restaurant to the East Valley.

The new Sicilian Butcher, the second under the name, was projected to open at the end of 2019 at the Chandler Viridian PrimeGate at Fashion Center development.

The original location, billed as Phoenix’s first “modern-casual meatball and butchery-inspired concept,” opened in 2017 on Tatum Boulevard near Greenway Road.

“This is a rare project where we have the chance to create a banner location that will generate buzz in the community,” Chef Joey Maggiore said of the planned restaurant in a news release.

“We will be able to provide a top-notch neighborhood experience for our customers, whether they are lunching out, dining in or taking out, all in a high-end, high exposure destination.”

The Chandler location, at the southwest corner of Frye Road and the Loop 101 Price Freeway, will occupy 4,600 square feet.

The menu will include the restaurant’s signature customized meals, where the customer can select from a variety of meatballs, sauces and bases, including pasta and risotto.

The venue will also feature a marketplace with an indoor-outdoor social area as well as a build-your-own cannoli bar.

The Scottsdale-based Maggiore Group’s restaurant lineup also includes Tomaso’s, Tomaso’s When in Rome and Hash Kitchen.
