Silver Alert canceled after 72-year-old Gilbert man was located

PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a Silver Alert issued Wednesday after a missing Gilbert man with Alzheimer’s was located.
Gilbert Police said Dale Mortensen, 72, left home on foot near Hunt Highway and Constellation Way between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and hadn’t been seen for hours.
He was found just after 6 p.m.
Mortensen was wearing a red shirt, brown shorts and was carrying a cane.
He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.
Mortensen has blue eyes and gray hair and sometimes wears glasses.
He is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He didn’t have access to a vehicle.
Anyone with relevant information about Mortensen was asked to call the police department at 480-503-6500.
