National Weather Service issues storm warnings around outskirts of Valley

PHOENIX — The National Weather Service issued a storm warnings around the Valley.
NWS warned of potential penny-sized hail and wind up to 60 mph near the city of Maricopa, southwest of Chandler, around 7:45 p.m.
About 15 minutes later, it issued a flash flood warning for the same area, which will be in effect until 11 p.m.
The service has also issued flood advisory warnings closer to the Valley.
A flood advisory heading east toward Glendale will be active until 8:30 p.m., and another heading west toward Queen Creek will be active until 9:15 p.m.
