PHOENIX – After canceling its Fourth of July show because of dry conditions that created a wildfire hazard, a northeast Valley suburb will host a fireworks display on Labor Day weekend.
The fireworks show will go on in Cave Creek on Sept. 2 after sundown. It will be part of a family-friendly celebration that starts at 5 p.m.
The fireworks will be launched off a hill behind Harold’s Corral, one of four restaurant/bars on Cave Creek Road hosting the event.
Attendees can watch the show from Harold’s, Roadhouse, The Buffalo Chip Saloon or The Horny Toad. Admission will be free on a first-come, first-served basis, and there will be drink and food specials.
Harold’s is offering reserved outdoor tables ranging from $15 to $60 and will have live music from Mogollon inside from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Cave Creek was one of several Arizona communities that canceled their Fourth of July shows when the fire risk was sky high, including Flagstaff, Williams and Prescott.
While there were no fireworks on the Fourth in Cave Creek, the Civana resort in nearby Carefree stepped in to put on an illuminated drone show.
