PHOENIX — The hits with the prolonged closure of Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale just keep on coming.

It was announced Monday that five more performances that the resort was set to host would be postponed.

Those performances included ventriloquist Terry Fator on Friday, artists DJ Diesel (a.k.a. Shaquille O’Neal) and Zedd over Labor Day weekend, Canadian musician Burton Cummings on Sept. 7 and rock band Daughtry on Sept. 8.

Those joined two other DJ sets that were postponed from earlier this month: JAUZ on Aug. 11. and 3LAU on Aug. 18.

The KMLE 8 Man Jam 2018, which was set to be held at the hotel at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28, was also relocated to Casino Arizona in Scottsdale for the same day and time.

The Talking Stick Resort was first closed on Aug. 11, after a monsoon storm caused a power outage and forced almost 900 people to evacuate.

Flooding damaged the first floor of the building as both the main and backup generators failed.

It was expected to reopen on Sunday, but the resort announced last week that it would remain closed beyond the initially-expected time frame.

Different activities, including the Arizona State Poker Championship, the Keno Tournament and the Esports Arizona Red Bull Conquest and the Keno Tournament, were cancelled, postponed or moved to different locations.

Guests who have slot machine tickets from the casino on Aug. 10 or 11 were allowed to redeem them at Casino Arizona.

“We greatly appreciate your patience as we diligently work toward resuming operations and are so grateful to everyone who is working hard to help us get up and running,” a statement said.

We want to hear from you.
