The lanes were fully reopened around 10:45 a.m. One lane had reopened around 10:30 a.m.
The accident occurred just after State Route Route 143 was reopened for an overnight police investigation.
The roadway was closed at the juncture with Interstate 10 around 11 p.m. Sunday and finally reopened around 9 a.m.
The bodies of two men were found nearby at 48th Street. Phoenix police did not say whether the freeway closure was related to their investigation of the deaths.
