PHOENIX — Three teens died and three more were in critical condition after a car crash around midnight Sunday morning, police said
Phoenix Police spokesman Sgt. Armando Carbajal said impairment is a possible factor in the crash at 2300 West Dunlap Avenue around 12:15 a.m.
A Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 16-year-old crossed over the center line and into the westbound lane.
It hit a Kia Spectra, driven by an 18-year-old, Carbajal said.
The four occupants of the Pathfinder — a 15-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, all males — were taken to the hospital in critical condition, Carbajal said.
The 16-year-old passenger died at the hospital.
Both occupants of the Spectra, 18-year-old and 17-year-old females, died at the scene.
Carbajal said impairment “is a possible factor” in the crash.
