CDC: Unclear if outbreak of stomach illness over

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it’s too early to say whether an outbreak of a nasty stomach bug is over or whether all the illnesses can be linked to pre-packaged salad mix.
Nearly 400 people in 15 states have been sickened in the outbreak.
The CDC statement Wednesday puts it at odds with Iowa state officials, who say the threat appeared to have passed. Almost 150 people in Iowa have fallen ill from the rare cyclospora infections.
Officials there and in Nebraska have said the outbreak appeared linked to the salad mix.
CDC spokeswoman Maria-Belen Moran says it is “too early to say there’s no risk of still getting sick.”
She said CDC is still investigating and trying to figure out whether all the illnesses are connected.
