2-year-old boy pulled from pool in West Valley has died

PHOENIX — A 2-year-old boy who was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday after being pulled from a backyard pool in a West Valley suburb has died, authorities said.
A family member found the boy in the unfenced pool near Grand Avenue and State Route 303, according to the Surprise Fire-Medical Department.
Responders worked on the boy and were able to find a pulse.
He was transported to a downtown Phoenix hospital in a Native Air medical helicopter.
On Thursday, the Surprise Police Department said the boy died and it was investigating the incident.
No other information was made available.
