PHOENIX — The tenants have committed. The commencement date has been set.

On Sept. 1, The Churchill will open in downtown Phoenix.

The marketplace, constructed using 19 re-purposed shipping containers, will include seven bars and restaurants and three shops.

Community seating for up to 300 people in the courtyard and rooftop deck will be located near Roosevelt and 1st Streets, according to a press release.

A collection of local art and murals will be on the walls and guests can “pull up a chair and simply hang,” the news release said.

“It’s an eclectic, impressive tenant mix, and as we intended when creating the space, everyone brings something very different to the table,” co-founder Kell Duncan said in a statement in June.

The 14,000-square-foot location’s 10 tenants are:

  • Breadwinner – a restaurant concept by Culinary Mafia Group
  • The Brill Line – a bar specializing in regional crafts
  • Pobrecito – a new cocktail bar
  • Provecho – a restaurant offering cuisine from Central Mexico
  • Freak Brothers Pizza – originally started as a food truck but will open it’s first non-mobile location at the Churchill
  • Foxy Fruit – a health-conscious spot that offers smoothies and acai bowls
  • Sauvage – a bottle shop offering wines at an approachable price
  • State Forty Eight – a local lifestyle brand
  • Cosas – a boutique that offers the work of local artisans from Mexico
  • Gather – a home and lifestyle retail shop

The Roosevelt Row location, at 901 N 1st St, Phoenix, AZ 85004, will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to midnight the rest of the week.

We want to hear from you.
