Sierra Vista high school to resume operations Tuesday after bomb threat

PHOENIX — A high school in southern Arizona will resume normal operations on Tuesday, one day after the school was evacuated due to a bomb threat.
Amanda Baillie, a spokeswoman for Cochise County, told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email that Buena High School in Sierra Vista was expected to be “open for school as normal” on Tuesday.
Baillie said a night custodian discovered the bomb threat on a bathroom wall around 6 p.m. on Monday. She did not disclose the contents of the threat.
Several students on the football and cheerleading teams were at the school at the time the threat was discovered.
Those students were evacuated and picked up by parents.
Canines from Fort Huachuca inspected the school and Sierra Vista police inspected all classrooms.
