PHOENIX — Drivers in Tempe may want to be aware of a restriction on a major freeway that will be in place overnight on Monday.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that the westbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to two lanes between Rural Road and the Interstate 10 from 8 p.m. on Monday to 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
This restriction will allow crews to re-stripe the highway’s lanes.
The westbound U.S. 60 ramp to the eastbound I-10, westbound US 60 HOV lane ramp to westbound I-10 and eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Baseline Road will also be closed.
Drivers were encouraged to take alternate routes while these restrictions were in place, including using the southbound Loop 101 to the westbound Loop 202 to access the eastbound I-10.
The freeway work was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday night, but was postponed due to the weather.
